Are you even from San Jose if you've never been to a party without the infamous Peter's bakery burnt almond cake/cupcake? The line is always down to the corner of the block, but it's very well worth it once you get your hands to their burnt almond cake Peter's bakery is definitely a not so hidden gem of east side, it's located at a busy road so parking is very limited. But that has never stopped me and my family from ordering from them

Peter's Bakery is absolutely amazing, and now I understand the hype! The burnt almond cake is pure perfection, and I'm not even usually a cake lover. From now on, I'll be coming to Peter's for all my baked goods and cakes. So far, I've tried their coffee cake, which is unbelievably delicious, and getting an entire cake for under $10 is incredible. The burnt almond cake is a standout, but I also loved the lemon tart, cinnamon bun, and the famous strawberry rings (which my friend tried, since I'm allergic to strawberries). I can't wait to try more of their goodies. The burnt almond cake is a must-try--be sure to check out Peter's Bakery!

Was finally able to try this place, and it is worth the hype. I came on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and to my surprise there were only a few people waiting in line. The employees here are so sweet and helpful! The bakery is filled with yummy treats - and they have single pastries, cupcakes, and a variety of cake size options. I opted for a burnt almond cake and a red velvet cake and both were excellent and very reasonably priced. Great experience overall- I will definitely be back!

I've gone to Peter's Bakery for their burnt almond cake for years for celebrating birthdays, and they never disappoint. Not too sweet, nice and moist center, and definitely good price compared to the price of cakes in the Bay Area. I also try other various baked goods when I pickup a preordered cake, and I've enjoyed all the other baked goods as well. If you like burnt almond cake, you can't go wrong with Peter's Bakery! There is a door/line for pre-orders that is opened sometimes so that you don't have to enter the main entrance of the store (tends to be a line).
